This weekend our team was proud to deliver the live production for an incredible Strongman competition, broadcast live on Channel 5.
Producing a live sporting event of this scale takes far more than simply pointing cameras at the action. Every lift, every reaction, and every defining moment has to be captured in real time, with a production team working seamlessly behind the scenes to ensure viewers don’t miss a second.
For this production, we deployed an 8-camera broadcast setup, strategically positioned to capture every angle of the competition. From tight athlete shots that showcased the determination and emotion on competitors’ faces to wide views that highlighted the scale of each challenge, every camera played a vital role in telling the story of the event.
To add another level of visual impact, we incorporated a camera jib, creating smooth, cinematic movement across the arena. These dynamic shots helped convey the size, atmosphere, and excitement of the competition while giving the broadcast a premium look and feel.
Our drone team also captured stunning aerial footage of the venue, providing spectacular establishing shots and unique perspectives that showcased both the event and its surroundings. Combined with the ground cameras, the aerial footage added another dimension to the overall production.
Covering Strongman presents its own unique challenges. The action is fast, unpredictable, and often spread across multiple competition areas, requiring constant communication between camera operators, directors, technical crew, and production staff. Every member of the team plays a crucial role in ensuring the broadcast runs smoothly from start to finish.
Seeing the finished production go live on Channel 5 is always a rewarding moment and reflects the planning, preparation, and teamwork that goes into every broadcast we deliver.
A huge thank you to our outstanding crew, whose professionalism and expertise made another successful live production possible, and to everyone involved in delivering such an exciting event. We look forward to bringing many more world-class sporting events to audiences across the UK.
