Delivering Full OB Coverage for Total Kombat in Liverpool

Last weekend, we were back on the road delivering full Outside Broadcast coverage for Total Kombat in Liverpool — and what a show it was.

From the moment we started rigging, the focus was clear: capture every strike, reaction and replay with absolute clarity and energy. Combat sports demand precision, speed and reliability, and our production setup was built to deliver exactly that.

At the heart of the broadcast were our Sony HDC-4300 camera systems, chosen for their ability to handle high frame rate capture and fast-paced action without compromise. These were paired with CJ20, CJ12 and UJ111 lenses, giving us the flexibility to move seamlessly from tight, in-ring close-ups to long, dramatic shots that captured the scale of the arena.

Replay coverage was driven by EVS systems, ensuring key moments could be turned around instantly for broadcast. In combat sports, replay isn’t just an add-on — it’s essential. Every decisive strike and critical moment was available in crystal-clear slow motion within seconds.

To bring viewers even closer to the action, we deployed an RF camera system for dynamic movement around the ring, along with a ref cam to provide a unique perspective right from the centre of the contest. These angles added depth to the storytelling and helped immerse the audience in the intensity of the night.

Of course, none of this happens without the people behind the technology. Our full technical and production crew handled everything from build and rigging through to live transmission and de-rig, ensuring a smooth workflow throughout the event.

Total Kombat in Liverpool was a brilliant event to be part of — high energy, packed arena and non-stop action. We’re proud to have delivered comprehensive OB coverage that matched the scale and intensity of the night.
