At Over Exposed, we revel in the opportunity to capture the essence of live music. Our recent endeavor with Classic FM and Turn Buffalo, we had to provide outside broadcast services at the Royal Albert Hall for Classic FM Live in April 2024.
Tasked with the responsibility of broadcasting one of the most prestigious events in the classical music calendar, our team embarked on a journey to orchestrate a flawless live broadcast. Meticulous planning was made to set up broadcast equipment, ensuring seamless transmission and pre-recorded content was delivered.
Broadcasting from the iconic Royal Albert Hall presented its own set of challenges, including logistical arrangements and ensuring optimal audio and visual quality amidst the large size of the venue. Additionally, coordinating with presenters, performers, production teams, and venue staff, demanded precision and coordination.
An execution of 10 different camera setups were made across the Royal Albert Hall, which included:
Spider / Hawk overhead Camera / Sony FX9 / wide Lens
Side of stage Jib Camera / Sony FX9 / CN8 Lens
Side of Stage Remote Dolly Camera / Sony FX9
On stage Left / Sony FX6 Camera / CN10 Lens / V20 Tripod
Conductor Centre stage Remote FR7 camera / 28-135mm Sony Lens
X3 Stationary Cameras Left, centre and right facing stage / Sony FX9 / CN20 Lens/ V20 Tripod
Push and Pull Dolly camera on second floor Balcony / Sony FX9 / CN7
Booth ground floor Camera stage right/ Sony FX9 / CN10 Lens/ V20 Tripod

With this set up we were able to capture every aspect of the live show, from presenter segways introducing special guests, to performances and special effects.
